Meet Maci and Lexi

If you remember, last Spring Lola picked up a baby Mallard duck from the pond in front of her work.  The girls quickly fell in love with Daisy aka "Dum Dum Daisy Duck".  Unfortunately, at the beginning of Fall, Daisy was eaten by a hawk. 

Well, it's Spring again and ducklings are being hatched everywhere.  Elena and I drove out to Orange, Tx where a guy had babies by the dozen.  We brought home 6 little ducklings.  (2 for Lola, 2 for Elena, and 2 for the girls). 

The ducklings are Pekin ducks.  Pekin ducks make very good pets and companions.  They will follow you around like a puppy.  Although they are yellow as ducklings, they will be solid white as adults.  They really are the cutest things I've ever seen!

The girls (and I) have already grown attached to their new pets.  Brylie named her duck Lexi, and Katy named hers Maci.  The ducklings have adapted well to their new home.  They already follow us around EVERYWHERE!
